Recertification

A Fellow of The American Board of Animal Acupuncture (FABAA) will maintain certification status through continuing education course that are verified every four years.  Recertification Verification forms must be submitted with documentation and fee 6 weeks prior to applicants expiration date of current ABAA certification.  

A minimum of 20 continuing medical education hours in the field of animal acupuncture or veterinary medicine will meet recertification criteria.

Continuing Medical Education (CMEs)

The ABAA accepts CMEs from courses on animal acupuncture provided by the ABAA and the Maryland University of Integrative Medicine.  The ABAA also accepts all courses on animal acupuncture that are approved by a State, the NCCAOM, and courses provided by a school of acupuncture that is accredited by ACAOM.  Courses in western veterinary medicine are also acceptable as CMEs.
